RRB Group D Level-1 Recruitment 2026: Eligibility, Application Dates, Vacancy Details & Selection Process

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a recruitment notification for 22000 posts of Level-1 positions including Pointsman, Assistant, Track Maintainer, Assistant Loco Shed, Assistant Operations, and Assistant TL & AC. Eligible candidates with Class 10th or ITI qualification can apply online from 21st January 2026 to 20th February 2026. Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have passed Class 10th examination or possess a valid ITI certificate from NCVT/SCVT or equivalent institution, or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) awarded by NCVT. Candidates who have completed diploma or engineering degrees are not eligible to apply. No minimum percentage is required for the educational qualification.​

Age Limit:

• Minimum: 18 Years
• Maximum: 33 Years (as on 01/01/2026)
• Age relaxation as per government norms:
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (up to 36 years)
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 38 years)
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years for UR/EWS after deduction of service period
  • PwBD candidates: As per government rules​

Salary Structure

The selected candidates will be placed in Level-1 of the 7th Pay Commission with the following salary structure:

The RRB Group D Level-1 recruitment follows a multi-stage selection process:

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

• Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates with scribe)
• Total Marks: 100
• Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deduction for each wrong answer
• Subjects:
  • General Science
  • Mathematics
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning
  • General Awareness & Current Affairs​

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This is a qualifying test to assess physical fitness:

For Male Candidates:

• Lift and carry 35 kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes (without putting it down) – one attempt only
• Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds – one attempt only​​

For Female Candidates:

• Lift and carry 20 kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes (without putting it down) – one attempt only
• Run 1000 meters in 5 minutes 40 seconds – one attempt only​​

Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)

Candidates qualifying PET will be called for document verification where original certificates and identity proofs must be submitted.​

Stage 4: Medical Examination

Final medical examination to ensure candidates meet the prescribed medical fitness standards for railway service.​

Refund Policy:

• General/OBC/EWS candidates: Rs. 400 refunded after appearing in CBT (after deducting bank charges)
• Reserved category candidates: Full Rs. 250 refunded after appearing in CBT (after deducting bank charges)​

Follow these step-by-step instructions to apply online:

Step 1: Visit Official Website

• Visit the official RRB website: www.rrbapply.gov.in or www.rrbcdg.gov.in
• Click on the "Apply Online" link for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025

Step 2: New Registration

• Click on "New Registration"
• Select "RRB Group D" from the dropdown menu
• Enter basic details including name, date of birth, father's name
• Provide valid mobile number and email ID
• Verify through OTP sent to mobile and email
• Note down the registration number generated

Step 3: Candidate Login

• Login using registration number and password (received on email/SMS)
• Fill complete application form with personal, educational, and contact details
• Upload scanned copies of:
  • Recent passport-size photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm)
  • Signature
  • Caste/PwBD/EWS certificate (if applicable)

Step 4: Pay Application Fee

• Select payment mode (Online or Offline)
• Complete fee payment through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking or at any recognized bank/post office
• Save payment receipt

Step 5: Submit Application

• Review all filled details carefully
• Submit the application form before the closing date
• Take printout of application form for future reference​
